Zhang Chenggang, Professor at Tsinghua University' s Department of Sociology, doctoral supervisor, and director of the Institute for Social Governance and Development. His research focuses on social governance and policy, risk and disaster studies, sociology of technology, and ethics of emerging technologies. A visiting professor at institutions including the University of Illinois (USA), the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fondation Maison des Sciences de l' Homme, and Sciences Po Paris, he also serves concurrently as an expert panel member for the United Nations' Conference on Technological Progress and Sustainable Development.
