This book depicts the decoration patterns of Chinese ethnic groups including Buyi, Dong, Hani, Jingpo, Kirgiz, Li, Lisu, Qiang, Shui, Tu, Tujia, Yao, Yi, and Zhuang. It introduces the “typical decoration” of each ethnic group in the form of “text + example + pattern”. It contains four aspects of description including "decoration tracing", “decoration carrier”, “characteristics of forms” and “combination and collocation”. It explains the complicated national decoration clearly in an intuitive way, so as to make the national decoration no longer mysterious and obscure.
