Greetings esteemed colleagues,

It is with great honor that we announce the official launch of a comprehensive academic journal Ocean, an international and peer-reviewed journal that offers open access and serves as a multidisciplinary platform for the state-of-the-art research, development, and practice in the domains of ocean science, technology, and engineering. On behalf of the editorial board, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the experts and scholars who have long been concerned about and supportive of ocean research.

The ocean, covering 71% of Earth's surface, is an essential space for human survival and development. As a vast and essential component of our planet, the ocean plays a critical role in the well-being of all humanity. It is imperative that we, as a global community, recognize the significance of safeguarding the marine environment, advancing marine technology, and ensuring the sustainable development of ocean resources. The pursuit of marine research is not only a national endeavor but a collective responsibility that transcends borders, aiming to benefit the entire world and our future generations. Against this backdrop, the creation of an influential academic journal in the marine field aims to:

(1) Establish a high-level platform for academic exchange, promote communication and collaboration among marine experts and scholars all around the world, and advance the development of ocean research globally.

(2) Showcase the latest research achievements in the marine field and enhance status and influence in the international marine science community.

(3) Serve national and international strategic needs and provide scientific and technological support for the development of the marine industry.

Adhering to the principles of internationalization, specialization, and authority, we strive to make Ocean one of the most influential academic journals in the global marine field. To this end, we will:

(1) Invite renowned experts and scholars worldwide to serve as editorial board members and reviewers, ensuring the academic quality of the journal.

(2) Follow international academic journal standards, enforcing a rigorous peer-review system.

(3) Collaborate with well-known international databases and publishers to improve the international dissemination of the journal.

The editorial board of Ocean will also closely focus on hot issues in the ocean field, pay attention to cutting-edge developments, and report innovative achievements. The journal covers a wide range of topics including domains such as ocean science, ocean engineering, ocean technology, etc., to provide a valuable reference for ocean research.

Launching this new journal is an important initiative to fulfill our mission in the era and serve global strategies. We are well aware that the path to creating a journal is fraught with challenges, but we firmly believe that with the strong support of the scholarly community, this journal will undoubtedly become an academic flagship in the global ocean field, contributing to the prosperity and development of marine science, engineering, and technology all around the world.

Last but not least, we sincerely wish for the continued success of this newly launched journal and may we all work together for a new land of ocean study.
