On December 9th, 2023, organized by the Institute for Social Governance and Development of Tsinghua University, the Institute for Intelligent Society Governance of Tsinghua University and the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University, the 5th China High-Level Forum on Social Governance and Development with the theme “Intelligent Social Governance and the New Journey of Chinese Modernization” was held at Tsinghua University. The series Emerging Technologies Enabling Modernization of Social Governance were officially launched at the event. More than 150 professors, officials and professionals from government agencies, universities and institutes participated in the forum. QIU Xianqing, president of Tsinghua University Press (TUP), attended the forum.
QIU Xianqing and GU Zhaoxi, former vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, jointly launched the Emerging Technologies Enabling Modernization of Social Governance series and the first title of the series i.e. Towards the Era of Intelligent Governance. ZHANG Chenggang, dean of the Institute for Social Governance and Development of Tsinghua University and QIU Xianqing signed the publication agreement for 10 new titles that will be added to the series.
QIU delivered a speech and pointed out that scientific and technical revolution promotes human development. It is highly valued by most countries and closely followed by researchers on philosophy and social sciences. Tsinghua University Press will continue to devote resources on the publication of the book series, in a bid to contribute to the improvement and modernization of social governance.
