Professor LI Xueqin’s Collected Researches on Bronze Ware Inscriptions and Western Zhou Literature Released to the Public

Collected Researches on Bronze Ware Inscriptions and Western Zhou Literature has been officially released to the public by Tsinghua University Press. This book is the Volume II of Professor LI Xueqin’s Lecture Notes Series. Professor LI Xueqin (1933-2019) is a well-known historian, archaeologist, paleographer, ancient bibliographer and educator in China. He was one of the first senior professors of arts at Tsinghua University and former director of the Research and Conservation Center for Unearthed Texts of Tsinghua University.

This new title consists of three volumes and contains 1.6 million Chinese characters. It records professor LIs last lecture notes for bronze inscriptions courses from 2008 to 2011. The book gives an introduction on almost all the noteworthy bronze wares from the late Shang Dynasty to Western Zhou Dynasty and provides a framework for the study of Western Zhou inscriptions. This book features comprehensive application of archaeological typology, the dual evidence method and the connection method, making it a paradigm with great academic value.
