Journal Publishing at Tsinghua University Press

Tsinghua University Press (TUP) is committed to promoting the values of Tsinghua University while advancing global academic innovation, with its advanced, international academic publishing and knowledge services. At present, TUP publishes 68 journals, 21 in Chinese and 47 in English. Among these journals, 57 are focused on science and technology, with 18 and 8 being indexed by the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) and the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), respectively. Among the 26 journals indexed by SCIE or ESCI, 21 hold a Q1 ranking. Five of these journals boast global top-three impact factors in their respective fields. Additionally, there are 11 journals centered on humanities and social sciences, of which 7 are indexed by the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) and its expanded versions.

Drawing on Tsinghua University's robust disciplinary strengths, TUP actively broadens international and domestic academic resources, accelerating the development of diverse fields, such as nanoscience, information sciences, physical sciences and engineering, life sciences and medicine, climate change, energy and environment, and humanities and social sciences. The portfolio of information science journals has evolved into the most extensive assemblage of English-language professional journals in the field of information science in China.

TUP has joined various prominent international publishing industry associations and standardization organizations, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM), the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) and Crossref. Through these affiliations, Tsinghua University Press has established strategic partnerships with leading enterprises in the global academic publishing and services sector, thus achieving complete integration into the global academic publishing system.

In 2022, TUP launched an international digital publishing platform SciOpen, which provides free access to over 200 journals across diverse academic disciplines and serves to meet the research needs of scientific communities. SciOpen's reach extends to users across more than 230 countries and regions, generating over 20 million page views per month.
