In September 2024, Tech Science Press (TSP) in the United States entered into a strategic partnership with Tsinghua University Press (TUP). As part of this agreement, the full content of 11 high-quality STEM journals published by TSP, all of which are indexed in either the Science Citation Index (SCI) or the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), became available on the SciOpen platform. This release includes 10 English-language journals: BIOCELL, Congenital Heart Disease, Computers, Materials & Continua, Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Oncology Research, Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Psycho-Oncologie, Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, and Sound & Vibration. Additionally, the collection features one English-French bilingual journal, Revue Internationale de Géomatique.
This collaboration marks a significant initiative by TUP towards embracing the open science movement and enhancing global academic exchange and cooperation. The inclusion of TSP journals underscores the recognition of the SciOpen platform's international reach within the global publishing community, thereby enriching the collection of high-quality academic resources. The platform's digital and intelligent features are expected to significantly enhance the dissemination of TSP journal content, accelerating knowledge sharing and fostering innovative applications worldwide.
Founded in January 1997 and headquartered in Henderson, Nevada, United States, TSP has upheld rigorous publishing standards, building strong collaborations with scholars, researchers, and academic institutions worldwide. TSP offers both print and electronic formats for journals, monographs, textbooks, and reference works, primarily focusing on the STEM field. Many of TSP’s journals are renowned for their academic excellence and standing within their respective fields.
Officially launched in June 2022, SciOpen is a digital publishing platform developed by TUP with support from the "Excellence Action Plan for China STEM Journals". Designed to enhance the international prominence of STEM journals, SciOpen adheres to best practices from mainstream international publishing models, supports digital production, multimedia publication, and global dissemination of STEM journals, and adopts widely used search engines to maximize accessibility. Utilizing advanced GLM-4 large model technology, SciOpen effectively addresses language barriers in academic reading. To date, the platform hosts 118 high-quality academic journals, featuring over 30,000 academic papers and more than 9,800 electronic resource entries. These resources span a wide range of disciplines, including science, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and social sciences, and are accessed by users from over 180 countries and regions.
Going forward, SciOpen plans to deepen its collaborations with global academic publishing institutions, strives to establish an open, innovative, and cooperative academic system that delivers high-quality services to researchers worldwide and advances technological innovation with the global academic community.
