Editorial Committee composition varies from journal to journal. It is generally composed of the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor-in-Chief, Executive Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board Members, etc. Any sponsorship will not influence the determination of EIC or EBMs.
The EIC of the Journal shall be recommended by the Editorial Office on the basis of the Journal’s positioning, academic characteristics and disciplinary characteristics. The EIC shall be appointed after review and approval by the Journal’s owner (e.g., the society/institution for cooperated journals) and TUP. The Editorial Office shall consult with the EIC to determine the members of the Journal’s Editorial Board.
EIC selection criteria: The EIC’s main research field should be consistent with the Journal’s publishing scope, and he or she should have high academic influence and good social reputation in this field and have sufficient time and energy to handle the actual affairs of the journal. The EIC generally does not concurrently serve as the EIC of other journals in the same field and language, and at least one EIC comes from the main cooperated society/institution for the cooperated journals.
EBM selection criteria: When selecting members of the editorial board, factors such as scholars’ research fields, academic reputation, geographical distribution, and gender distribution are taken into consideration.
